Revelation 21:4 says ‘God will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.’
This is the exact scripture God put in my heart to speak life into the man I met suffering with PTSD, anxiety and opioid addiction, in addition to mourning the recent loss of his mother. This is also the scripture God used to help me minister to a block captain who provides free lunch for the kids in her neighborhood and yet still grieves for her son who was killed twenty years ago. No parent should bury their child. Unfortunately, this is the reality for many families of that we get the chance meet.
I also met a man who had two of his children killed in front of him during a robbery. He ended up in a coma for a week, but God had another plan for his life. This man had so much faith and realized it was “only the Man above” that could have saved him. He acknowledged that this was the only reason he was able to fully recover to raise the rest of his children.
Although many people are suffering in North Philadelphia, their faith still remains! God is working and He is still good regardless of the circumstance. I pray that God continues to heal and wipe away tears. God has bent down from heaven and contorts Himself to express his unconditional love to a disfigured people. No one is perfect. “But he was pierced for our transgressions, and he was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his stripes we are healed.”- Isaiah 53:5
