John Piper reminds us: God created us to live with a single passion to joyfully display his supreme excellence in all the spheres of life. The wasted life is the life without this passion. God calls us to pray and think and dream and plan and work not to be made much of, but to make much of him in every part of our lives.
He also urges: There can be no weary resignation, no cowardly retreat, and no merciless contentment among Christ's people while he is disowned among thousands of unreached peoples. Every Christian (who loves people and honors Christ) must care about this. Both quotes taken from Don't Waste Your Life.
Medical Campus Outreach desires to equip students and professionals to display God's glory through their relationships with their coworkers and patients. This daily workplace outreach - in hospitals, clinics, and schools - denotes spiritual vitality. The Summer Medical Institute offers an opportunity to see faith in practice, as students canvas the community and shadow Christian providers. Additional, mini-SMI outreaches held throughout the year allow even more students to provide health screenings and share Christ in communities in Philadelphia.
MCO also aims to fuel a passion for God's work around the world, particularly among underserved or unreached people groups. We strongly believe that every Christian is called to join in this work, many through prayer and giving and some through going. Global outreach partners often share at MCO luncheons, and MCO coordinates a group of students to attend the Global Health Missions Conference each year. MCO also keeps students and professionals aware of medical outreach trips around the world.
